Lions Lighthouse Foundation
Remembering where we Started
The Peach Bowl was originally founded as a fundraiser for the Georgia Lions Lighthouse for the Blind, an organization dedicated to helping underserved Georgians with vision and hearing care.
That relationship continues to this day and has grown from financial support, with an annual $50,000 contribution, to a proactive effort to provide vision screenings to young children in the Atlanta community and in the communities of our participating teams.
The vision screening program is a partnership between the Lions Lighthouse Foundation and the Bowl and integrates students from our Academic Mentoring Program to help the Lions staff screen elementary school children and kids in day care programs.
In 2017-18, the program performed 1,795 vision screenings and detected and helped resolve 234 vision problems for children.
