Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Records Earliest Semifinal Sellout in College Football Playoff Era

Secondary ticket market and resold VIP packages are the only remaining ways to get access to the most significant college football game in Atlanta’s history.

ATLANTA (July 11, 2016) – The College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl today announced a sellout, becoming the first of the New Year’s Six bowls to sell through all its individual game tickets. In doing so, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl has also recorded the earliest sellout among Semifinal games in the College Football Playoff era.

“The anticipation of the College Football Playoff Semifinal coming to our city is off the charts” said Percy Vaughn, Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl chairman. “Fans of our bowl have had this date circled on their calendars for a long time.”

“This will be the most significant college football game ever played in Atlanta and we’re proud that the road to the national championship comes through Atlanta!” said Gary Stokan, Peach Bowl, Inc. president and CEO.

The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl ticket office sold more than 45,900 tickets to local and regional buyers. A record 97 percent of 2015 ticket buyers renewed their purchases for this year’s bowl game. The remaining tickets are allocated to the bowl’s two participating teams who will be announced by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee December 4.

“Congratulations to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and to the people of Atlanta for this early sellout,” said Bill Hancock, executive director of the College Football Playoff.  “It’s a real tribute to the community’s support of college football, and to the popularity of the playoff.  We’re all looking forward to a great event.”

The College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick fil-A Peach Bowl will be played Saturday, Dec. 31 at either 3 p.m. or 7 p.m. ET. It will host either the #1 vs. #4 or the #2 vs. #3 teams in the country as assigned by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee. The game will be nationally telecast by ESPN.

Limited Access to Resold Tickets and VIP Hospitality Packages

Fans may still be able to find limited tickets on the secondary ticket market by using the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl’s official secondary market ticket exchange through Ticketmaster.

The only other way to secure access to the game is to purchase one of the few remaining VIP Packages – including tickets and hospitality – from the Bowl’s exclusive ticket package provider, PrimeSport
